Understanding your NDIS Support Budget Options

NDIS Queensland

If you or a loved one has an NDIS plan, you’ve likely heard about Support Budgets. These budgets are allocated to specific areas of support within your NDIS plan and come in three types: Core Supports, Capacity Building Supports, and Capital Supports.

Core Supports are flexible and cover daily activities, social and community participation, consumables, and transport. They aim to enhance independence and skills.

Capacity Building Supports focus on building independence and skills to achieve goals. Funding is specific to approved individual supports within categories like Support Coordination, Improved Living Arrangements, and more.

Capital Supports cover high-cost items like assistive technology, equipment, home or vehicle modifications, and specialist disability accommodation. Funding is dedicated to its intended purpose.

To make the most of your NDIS plan, consider your needs, goals, and challenges. Your support coordinator can guide you in choosing the right categories. Check your plan or myplace portal for your eligible categories.

At Reachability Australia, we’re committed to helping NDIS participants maximize their support. Contact us to discuss your plan and how we can assist you on your journey toward greater independence and wellbeing. Let’s work together to achieve your goals.
